Cooper – 1 Year Later

Cooper was my little sweetie.  His big ears and attentive face always drew me to him.

That’s what his humans love about him, too.   Check him out at 6 months.

“He has a kind gentle soul and is great with everyone he encounters, may it be others dogs, cats or children. Rich and I continue to work opposite schedules so he always has one of us around. The best part of my day is when I come home and he runs to see me- the unconditional love is amazing. We both love him so much and couldn’t imagine life without him.”

cooper-gsdHere’s what they had to say on Cooper’s 1st birthday:

Cooper is our loving, handsome baby boy!
We love you Cooper-you add joy daily to our lives!!!

I am so very, very grateful to Cooper’s family for loving this amazing puppy as much as they do.

Angus – 1 year later

If you’ve been following our stories, you probably remember the day that Liam came to Buttonwood Farm with not a clue about why he was here.  His mom showed him through the kitchen and into the living room where we had 6 small puppies.  Of course, Liam loved the pups, but when Mom and Dad told him that he would be able to someday take one home to be his very best friend, this was the face of pure joy:

Since the day that Angus went home with his forever family, he has had a love-filled, active and adventurous life.

Angus lives on Cape Cod during the summer where he plays in the ocean, swims in the tidepools, and even gets to do some paddleboarding.

This winter, Angus has had a ton of fun in the snow with his boy!

I can’t begin to tell you how much this fills my heart with joy.

Gemini – 1 Year Later

This is the puppy I called Luis Tiant.

He stayed with me the longest and I ended up getting pretty attached to him.  Seriously, though, look at him….those eyes, that nose, those ears!german shepherd puppy

Here he was playing with puppy Stella the Bloodhound:

You can imagine, then, how happy I was when this amazing family took the ride down from Chelmsford on Mothers Day last year to become the puppy’s forever family. This family truly loves dogs  This pup had an instant playmate in Koda and lots of love and hugs from his 4 humans.

Here is what Tricia has to say about Gemini at one-year-old:
“Gemini has grown into such a happy and confident boy!

Pat is still taking him to classes to reinforce his canine good citizenship skills.

We work with him at home on our own tricks.  He has recently learned to play ‘dead’ when we say ‘bang!’.  He rolls on his back with his tongue hanging out .  It’s adorable.

He loves his marrow bones.  We give him frozen bones, particularly when we have company.
 German Shepherd Dog
Most recently he has discovered snow.

Oh, he loves it.  He rolls in it and chases snowballs and lays down to relax in it.

His personality grows more and more everyday.”

My own family can’t get over how much Gemini looks like Kenai.  I am thrilled that this pup found a loving family.

Inka – 1 Year Later

Inka was the only black and tan puppy in the 2015 litter. She stood out, not only due to her coloring, but because of her personality.  Kat and Tom spent a couple of hours almost every Sunday hanging out with the puppies to get a sense of which one was going to help make their house a home. After a few sessions, they were convinced that pup was Inka. She was attentive and had kind-of a quirky sense of adventure.

Now – Inka is one year old…..
This from Kat, Inka’s human:
“Inka is our best friend! She is a complete goof ball. She loves absolutely every person and every dog she meets and is always up for an adventure. She is a horrible watch dog – she stands at the door with her tail wagging no matter who is there and greets everyone as if they’ve left her for a lifetime. She loves hiking, swimming, fetch, rain, snow, the beach and anything else you can think of. She’s a city and a country dog. She loves going into Boston because she gets to ride the train and have lots of people pet her, but she also loves visiting her grandparent’s home in upstate New York where the yards are huge and there are farm animals all around. We couldn’t have asked for a better friend.”
